Program Goal: Wolverine
Farrier School exists to provide the student with a solid foundation concerning
the basics needed by the entry level farrier in forging techniques, shoe
making, tool fabrication, equine anatomy and physiology, movement principals
and hoof care management. Wolverine Farrier School is located on 2 acres in Isabella County. The main lab building and classroom cover over 2000 square feet. There are 8 forge and anvil stations as well as a shop and materials storage area. Students are encouraged to take advantage of extended lab hours; students have access the WFS forge building daily until 10pm. The school is located in the heart of Michigan's vast horse population. "Hands-On" is the focus of our program. Students have frequent opportunities to practice their skills in the main lab and also travel to equine farms in the region that are affiliated with WFS.
